Milwaukee recently released two handheld band files that are best in class. The Milwaukee M12 Fuel 10mm Band File M12 FBFL10 & the Milwaukee M12 13mm Band File M12 FBFL13. The 13mm band file sander is the first cordless band file that delivers the same performance as a pneumatic band file but you don’t have to worry about dragging an air hose around with you. Easy to operate with its 360⁰ rotating head, its compact design allows it to get into all those tight spaces and still give you that clean consistent finish. That smooth finish and maximum control are helped by the band file having two variable speed modes. The no load speeds are 0 – 7,200 RPM and 0 – 14,500 RPM, to change speed just hold down the mode button. Milwaukee M12 cordless bandfile has given you the option of a forward/reverse function which you can easily use by pressing and holding down the mode button similar to when you want to change speed. Dual action safety trigger with lock-on function to help reduce hand fatigue when being operated for long periods.
This band file offers best-in-class spot weld removal due to its brushless motor allowing you to get the job done quickly without the hassle of pneumatic hoses, compressors or power cords making it way more convenient for its user. Easy to grab for our toolbox and get to work.
It keeps a clean consistent finish with its high-speed power and fast removal without flat spots on your material, great for working on round welds like welding frames or railing together.
The band files compact design allows you to hold it using one hand when in those very tight spaces, this is helped by its 360° rotatory arm. To rotate the arm there is a quick clip lever at the base of the arm that is tool free and easy to do which improves mobility and access to tight angles when working. You can fold the arm parallel with the handle for compact and secure storage. The band file has LED lights to help improve visibility when you are working on pieces that have poor visibility.
Changing the belt on this band file is tool-free and is quick to do making it very time efficient. On the side of the arm is a thumbscrew on the belt guard that easily clips off, then you need to put pressure on the tip of the band files arm until it you hear the safety latch clip into position. This gives you that bit of slack you need to remove the old sanding belt and add the new one on. Once the new belt is on you just need to press the release button on the arm and its back at full length again. Put the guard back on the arm and your ready to get back to work.
